Ok here we go, and thanks in advance for the help. Here is the situation. I have a dsl connection, to which is connected my netgear wgr614v5 wireless router. I have a pc hardwired to the 614, and use the wireless with my two ibooks. Everything works fine. I have an xbox and soon maybe a 360 in the other side of the house and really don't want to run a cable out that far. I know I can just buy the xbox wireless adapter and be set, however, I also have another perfectly good netgear wireless router, a wgt624v2.

The questions are: a)can I use the second router(the 624) to hook up to the xbox and get it to network with the 614 on the dsl connection, is it possible and then if so b)how the heck do I set it up to do so?

Thanks
Gug

Hi Gug -

Haven't seen you around here for a while - welcome back!

Short answer is NO - what you need is a wireless bridge, not an access point. That's all the xbox adapter is - a simple bridge.

Unfortunately, access points can't be used as a bridge.

The (kinda) good news is that any 'wireless game adapter' will work - you don't need the Microsoft one.

my belkin wireless G can be used as a bridge, but it can only be used as a bridge with other belkin products. maybe there is some new firmware out for your router that can make it a bridge.

Thanks for the replies gentlemen. Nice to see you again Jeff.
I guess I'll have to fork out the 99 bucks for the wireless boxes.
