I've been weightlifting on and off for the last 10 years. The last time I lifted regularly was about 7 months ago. This fall I'm ready to get back into the rhythm.

I've always used whey protein and the occasional creatine. This time I'm quite determined to regain my mass rather quickly. I've already placed an order for my usual favorite, Optimum 100% Whey Protein. I haven't used creatine for about 5 years, so I'm not up to date on it. Is creatine still popular, or are there are any other basic (natural) supplements that people are using these days that might help me improve results? I don't want anything artificial or chemical.

Thanks in advance.

I don't use creatine but I do like to use Next Nutrition's Designer Protein and EAS's Myoplex and Myoplex Deluxe. I only use the Deluxe b/c I like the chocolate flavor better than the regular Myoplex chocolate.

Designer Protein used to be my drug of choice back in college. But then I suddenly turned lactose intolerent and Optimum Whey Gold Standard with added lactase enzymes worked out well for me.

What's Myoplex? Is it just a protein supplement?

I would direct you to the forums at www.bodybuilding.com. It is a wealth of information, though you have to wade thru the usual crap (like 18 year olds asking how they can gain 40 lbs. of muscle before football season starts).

Good luck! BTW, ON Whey is the best! :)

Myoplex is a "meal replacement" supplement. I would use it right after a work out and I would mix it with water. It would help my muscles recover and get stronger faster.
