Who has a Canon Powershot S100 Digital Elph and what do you think of it?

I want one but I would like to see what others say about it. I get mixed messages from different people.

Also I am open to other cameras in this price range. the features that I'm looking for are...

usb, rechargeable batteries, 2 mpixcle, at least 2x optical zoom that takes good pictures.

Well, to copy what someone told me, it doesn't matter how great the camera is if its not on you when you want to take a picture.

Plus, given how any camera you buy will always be obsolete in a year, get one that’s small. Size is never obsolete. That’s why I like ultraportable laptops. No matter what, they’re always mobile.

I’d say if you want point and shoot, you can’t lose with the S100. You won’t miss those extra pixels. In my opinion, camera’s don’t have enough pixels yet to print.

Thus 2 megapixels is fine. You’ll get great 800x600 photos. In my opinion, although 2 megapixels is enough resolution to print, b/c of the way the ccd works, you need 3 times as many pixels to get the color depth, sharpness and realism. Thus 6 megapixels to print a decent 5x7. Just look at a 1600x1200 on your monitor, it looks fuzzy and blurry. Shrink it to 800x600, and it looks great.
