so i've got like pleather-ish seats, and they're so old that they've begun to crack. the front passenger seat in particular has cracked and already begun to tear.

is there a way i can repair this without having to replace the entire seat? isn't there some sort of... errrm... gel/paste/molding or SOMEthing that mends stuff like this?

any suggestions? i'm not concerned about aesthetics at all; i just want to keep the seat from tearing any further.

Why not use the old standby...needle and thread?

Get a heavy duty curved needle and heavy duty thread.

Besides, duct tape doesn't like constant exposure to heat and sunlight and will eventually weaken.

i thought of something today. the wife and i used to have a 50's dinnette set that had vinyl chairs. one of them slit, and I taped it with this clear vinly tape that i got at lowes. it didn't look bad, and lasted forever. not sure if it would work as well on a car seat, but you might try it out.
