starting off with MC2.

yeah...download is freakishly slow...I DLed MC2, I've played about a dozen mishes. I used download acc plus, and it got better than my firefox download client. firefox only has about 5-6 kb/s, DAP got me around 30-35 kb/s

I'm gonna do mc gold pretty soon also.

also, after you install, go on the MC forums to download the .exe fix for game. I use daemon tools to mount it, but it said I needed the CD to play the game, so the forums guide you to the .exe fix so you can play.

I don't suppose anyone can put them up as a torrent or something. Their download servers are now FTP limited to 10 users...

They've added a torrent link to the MechCommander 2 download page. Downloads at a pretty good rate - looks like it should only take about 20 minutes.

are you guys finding that you have to "mount" the ISO file everytime you want to play MC2 (after restarting the comp) with the Virtual Clone Drive program?

I just burned a CD and use that, but yes, it tells me that I have to have the CD in the drive.

wow... i finally got to install this last night, and i'd forgotten how addictive this damn game is. i think i was up till almost 3 playing it and reminiscing about the days when cornmonkey and i were roommates, and we'd play online against others, screaming directions to each other from our rooms.

those were good times...

i'm having probs loading it, it's saying to put the cd in or something like that. and i went into the registry, but it's already the correct drive letter.

If that's MechCommander 2, it states that you need a no-cd crack in order to run it.

dammit, i already finished MC2.
i thought there'd be more to it...

i wish there was some payoff for "leveling up" the pilots.

guess i'll have to revisit MC1 now. :D

yessurrrr... corn and i used to play online together back in the day.

now, whether or not there are still people populating the servers is another question... i haven't checked it out online yet.
