DELL INSPIRON 3800 Notebook

Dell's home website has this notebook for $1199.You have to delete the humongous 512 MB memory to bring it down to this. Use Passport to get 20% off. It has a Celeron 600, 12" TFT screen, DVDROM, and free shipping till the 28th.Not a bad deal for less than $1000 shipped.I figure they probably charge tax, though.

Dell's new policy! They don't charge tax for California buyers and various other states!!! I bought myself an Dell 4000 notebook for $1600 shipped! Intel P3 600, 10 GB, 64MB RAM, 14 inch screen, etc... Not bad! Also, with the 20 %, it is only a gift card for your next purchase at dell. Don't expect a 20% off your purchase.

If you go to techbargains and then link to Dell, a pop-up window appears. It says that you will get a rebate check for 20%, not a gift certificate(Maximum $500)

Thanks for the info, it took me two days to decide if I should buy the notebook and I just did. I ended up buying the Dell Inspiron 4000 for $1700. I wasn't expecting to spend that much but I wanted a little more power....but don't we all =) I jumped up to PIII 600, 128 Ram, 10GB HD, and 10/100 ethernet to hook up into my Cable Modem network.

Anyway after I get the 20% off check from MSN, the total will be $1360, which is a fantastic price.

Remember the free shipping ends the 28th, plus Dell is taking off $100 on various items including the Notebooks =) And there is no tax for most states, that's including CA.
