...is kinda/sorta looking for a project car. While browsing message boards and online classifieds, he ran across a GREAT quote that describes precisely what he's looking for:

This is not a daily driver. It's loud, obnoxious, and encourages juvenile behavior.

I have had a car or two and a motorcycle or three like that in my past. How about you?

My 68 Vette, which I still own...It had 400 horsepower, side pipes and large tires. It was pretty, but it was loud and I was constantly looking for street racers. And I always found a few each night that I took it out.

Back in the sixties and seventies, it was common to race from red light to red light. There were fast cars--GTO's, 442's, Hemi Cudas, 427 Chevelles--- everywhere and gas was only 40 cents a gallon. What a blast I had back then!!

Man, those were the days! Add the Charger Daytona (preferably with the 426 hemi) to that list.

Sounds like my '94 Mazda RX7, not daily driven, not stock, loud and obnoxious and definitely encourages juvenile behavior! Now that I've had it for 10 years or so, I keep thinking maybe I should put on a quieter exhaust. But then again, I do enjoy setting off car alarms when I get the opportunity to drive through parking garages!

My Dad just bought another car to 'have fun with' for a few years: a '68 Camaro SS. We're considering how much we want to 'rework', and it's looking like we might just take the whole thing apart and start from scratch from the frame on up (like every other car my Dad has done).

Looks like the old Challenger, only MUCH lighter! Should be interesting.

WRX STi

Nice, but ugly IMHO, and a rally car, not a muscle car, which is the way this thread is heading. I'm a classic car fan, but I don't turn down new technology either. But to sit in a WRX STi, while it may have offered a huge bang/buck, customizing a nice and recent muscle car (or even a stealth normal looking rwd or awd car - like a new or old vette) seems cooler to me. Rock hard suspensions and uncomfortable seats aren't always worth the WRX's compromises.
