Whitney Houston Files for Divorce

LOS ANGELES -- The tumultuous marriage of Whitney Houston and Bobby Brown is apparently coming to an end.

Houston has filed for divorce from her husband Brown, her publicist, Nancy Seltzer, told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Seltzer declined to reveal where or when Houston filed the divorce papers, and said the singer had no statement to make.

"I can just confirm that she has filed for divorce," Seltzer said.

"Access Hollywood" said the documents were filed last Friday and Brown was served Tuesday.

However, Brown's lawyer in Atlanta said there was no filing for divorce, but a petition for legal separation was filed in California.

Houston and Brown, who married in 1992, have been the subject of breakup rumors for years.

The couple have one child, a 13-year-old daughter named Bobbi Kristina.

Legal Seperation you aren't "Divorced" You are still technically married and cannot get married again. And you don't have all of the Divorce proceedings, I cannot confirm whether or not that includes no Alimony, or custody battles, but I am sure that depends on the state you are in.

It's basically something that says.. "I can legally date other people and it's not cheating, but I'm married" Atleast that's my take on it.
