And how in the movie, they spoofed all the licensed products they would have . . . Yogurt selling little dolls of himself and all . . .

Wellllll . . . now there's going to be a spinoff . . . "Spaceballs: The Animated Series"

Personally, I'm looking forward to it . . . the movie is hilarious!

LOS ANGELES, California (Hollywood Reporter) -- Mel Brooks is developing an animated TV series based on his comedy feature "Spaceballs."

Like the 1987 movie, which parodied well-known science-fiction movies, "Spaceballs: The Animated Series" will spoof current blockbusters as well as every genre of entertainment from movies and reality TV to culture and politics.

It is set to debut on cable network G4 in fall 2007. Production has already started on an initial batch of 13 episodes.

Brooks, who will voice two characters in the show, co-wrote the pilot with longtime collaborator Thomas Meehan, who will oversee all writing for the series.

I'm a bit suprised they are doing this...wasn't Spaceballs have a bit too much adult humor? I guess I'm a little confused because I don't know if I've ever seen the G4 Network. Is that more of a network like Adult Swim on Cartoon Network?

G4 seems to run a WHOLE BUNCH of Star Trek and Star Trek TNG. It's kind of like Spike for geeks.

My favorite scene in the movie was the one where they are fast-forwarding through the Spaceballs video to find out where the other guys had gone.

Yep! :heh:

He's friggin' hilarious and ridiculously talented! He acts, writes, directs, produces . . . even wrote many of the songs for The Producers musical . . . he's goofy as hell and sometimes his risks don't pay off . . . but sometimes, he's just classic . . . "Blazing Saddles," anyone??

Couple friends of mine just hated Spaceballs -- so he isn't the only one. :)

('course, how I can call them "friends" for NOT liking this flick is a whole different topic....... :P )
