I am getting ready to do a big upgrade (computer show is coming to town this weekend) and had my mind made up that I was going to get an ABIT KT7 RAID motherboard and a Duron processor.
Well anyway, I have recently heard that the overall quality of the ABIT KT7-RAID is not that impressive, and there have been problems ith the RAID, with drives just disappearing, with USB and with a couple of specific PCI slots. Does anyone have anything to back up any of these claims? or disprove any of them???

I have read all the reviews on the net, which are all fine and dandy, but when a company gets to pick the board they are sending you, that seems to skew the test results a little. I am looking for real people, with off-the-shelf boards and there real results/experiences!

Any help would be GREAT!!!

Thanks in advance,

Wade A.

got mine with a duron 700, it's overclocked at 1ghz rock solid; as for disappearing drives, haven't had anything like that happen yet.

The quality of this motherboard is just fine. In addition the KT7 manual tells you how to hook up hard drives and whatnot.

Good KT7 faq: http://www.apushardware.com/faqs/kt7faq/kt7faq.htm
