I want to get rid of a bunch of items in My Favorites, but I am sick and tired of seeing the popup which asks me if I really want to delete them.
I read somewhere that the registry can be modified to get rid of these popups but can't remember where I saw it.

What browser are you using? In explorer there is a folder where they are all listed and you can just delete them out of there...
C:\Documents and Settings\User Name\Favorites for IE
For firefox i dont know. but maybe you could put them all in a folder and then just delete the folder?

IE6. I don't want to delete them all, but very many of them.

Do it from Windows explorer, not from IE.
Go to your profile - typically in C:\Documents and Settings\yourname\Favorites. Ctrl-click to select multiple entries & delete them all at once.
