So I am in the market for a sexy watch. Looks are more important than functionality in watches for me. Just looking for something that I will show the time. Tired of taking my phone out for finding the time.. Also I really dont want to break the bank.. Under $200?? or maybe a little bit more.
I was surfing amazon and found these watches to look good..
Seiko Men's Alarm Chronograph Watch #SNA061

Kenneth Cole Men's watch

Any suggestions?? What do you guy/gals think about the two watches??

I saw the first one a while ago and I really really liked it, but the second one looks good too. I'd probably wear the first one more often.

A watch made by a clothing company is not very sexy in my opinion. When it comes to watches I like to invest in a solid, proven, timeless classic that is made by a watch company. Seiko is one, but I don't like that one. Trendy items like those will fall out of fashion before you know it. Trust me. You'll grow tired of both of those watches by the end of the year.
But then again, to each his own. If you like it get it. Just make sure not to spend $200 on a watch you haven't seen in person. Those are both very artificial, photoshopped images. It could look very different in real life.

I'd say Tag's are the best watches when it comes to looks and allure.
if not that...omega watches are pretty snazzy

sure enough, he eventually moves on and finds something else he likes. of course, that might just be his personality, but i have to say something with a more classic look will probably satisfy you more in the long run.
that said, i like the second watch better than the first one, but that's because i'm more a fan of simplicity in design. however, since i don't wear watches and haven't really shopped for one in ages, i couldn't tell you what companies are good in that price range.
I agree with Arki. These watches are on the trendy side and aren't really sexy so much as they are trendy and flashy. The digital display on the second one and bulbous face makes it look kinda cheap to me and the weird cut on the first one seems a little out there. Personally, I've always liked Bulova or Movado for attractive watches without spending a ****load on.

Now if only he could find one for under $200 that's not off some street corner, I'd be interested too!! :D

Yeah, it's fascinating how few people wear watches now since the cell phone took over. I still believe the watch is one of the very few "conventional" modes of stylistic expression a guy can perform through an accessory, so I enjoy wearing them.
And somehow my arms feel so bare and casual without a watch. Not having a watch almost feels the same for me as walking around in a t-shirt and sandals.

for an everyday watch...I dig my fossel watch. I see on their website that they have just made their own kinetic winding watch. That would be a nice one to have.
perpetual motion watch...hmmm...I doubt it...perpetual motion kinda breaks the laws of physics.
(but I have a perpetual motion machine drawn up...just need to build it and mave my machine give me a big middle finger in my face) but I have one drawn up =)

Even in this digital age there are two things I will never give up - a real book & a real watch. The electronic versions just don't cut it.
I agree w/ArkiStan - look at those made by watch companies, not fashion or clothing companies. My favorite place to shop is at Overstock - they have a great selection & tons of good ones within your range. Seiko, Casio, Citizen, Wenger - all very solid brands & all within your price range. There are also a bunch I've never heard of & a bunch I can't afford, but still fun to look at. Ashford.com is also very good if you catch a sale.
Personally, I'm a big fan of the chronograph. Citizen EcoDrive is solar powered - I have an EcoDrive that's about 6 years old now that is still running strong, never need to worry about batteries, winding, etc. http://www.overstock.com/?page=proframe&prod_id=1729405
Automoatic (self-winding) watches are also really nice. The Seiko Kinetic is a very solid brand, but somewhat plain looking. Prague makes some very nice looking automatic watches, but I have no idea about the quality of that brand.
I also prefer titanium bands - MUCH lighter than steel & more comfortable. I don't like leather too much - wears out too quickly.

I agree with Freelance, the Kenneth Cole looks good because it's so simple. I like the Movado that was shown above too. I think a watch like that would look really good on a guy--simple, yet masculine. Yum.

Ever since I've been buying my own watches, I've been fiercely loyal to Swiss Army. Their titanium ones rock and have that classic, timeless look that never seems to bore. I haven't had one go bad on me yet, except that I've lost a couple.

:stupid: Depending on the company who makes the Swiss Army (Wenger, Victorinox, other well-known watch manufacturers contracted by either, etc) you probably can't go wrong. And they look like normal attractive, timeless watches. While one of the exotic-looking watches may look kinda neat when dressed to go out for the night, or even in some formal situations, they might feel and look kinda silly if you happen to be in casual clothes or are exercising, etc. And they probably aren't as durable as a Seiko, Bulova, or other solid watch company.
I agree about metal straps. Leather wears out, smells bad after a while, turns colors, bends pins, etc.
Then again, my metal strap popped a pin the other day...gotta get that fixed.
Of course, a Rolex looks good anytime. Someday...
But I do have a friend who picked up a counterfeit Rolex in Senegal. Damn near impossible to discern it from the real deal. Went to a high-end watch store to compare. Self-winding, consistent sweep-second hand, etc. Best fake I've ever seen.
After all the looting in NOLA last year, if you bought a Rolex for $50 from some guy on the street, it was probably a real one. ;)

Both waches look good but in the scheme of things, I'd say that I'd choose the Seiko. Kenneth Cole makes decent watches (i.e. better than the average "fashion" forays into watchmaking), but Seiko still makes better watches (from my personal history).
Kenneth Cole's watches, IMO, are too nice. By this I mean that they're too susceptible to being scratched, but I wonder if the Seiko's aren't the same as well. I like the Seiko better.

I should note that the watches I dealt with had really nice leather bands that warped relatively easily under sweat and scratched even more visibly. The other ones had bands made of a soft metal that ended up with scratches on the band itself. I didn't have problems with the crystals, but the bands.
Not sure if that clarifies what I meant, and again, I like the watches, but lke the Seiko's more.
Actually, I should say this: Kenneth Cole made good watches. Most other "fashion" watches were cheap movements you could find for five bucks, put into a "designer" face, with a name on it. Kenneth Cole made good quality finer products, that's all I meant.

Found this at fw:

There is an extra 10% off on select watches and it has favorable reviews, especially when you factor in the price. Slight issue with the band, but people seem to really like this watch overall.
Also it's an automatic and lists for $375. Looks like a submariner in the pics, but they apparently changed the bezel slightly.
