I just joined the Channel 8 rewards. Is this a new rewards program? I was kind of suprised at the "cost" of the prizes available. 50k points sounds like alot for a new program.

The program just started today. Looks like they copied the prizes over from their radio points program so that's why they are high.

They did the same thing when they started the radio points program...had prize points values no one could afford for months.

Actually, if you start on the first day, and are able to get points each time they are offered, you could be the first to reach the point where you can claim a prize when others are behind.

If you go to Oprah's website, it gives you a little summary of today's show (as well as the previous week)...the answer to the trivia question can usually be found in the synopsis.

The Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets cost 52,500 points. The show is in 3.5 weeks. Seems very unlikely anybody will be able to acquire that many points so soon. Maybe an email to KFMB suggesting they lower the point value is in order?

Yes, at a little over 1000pts per day, 5 days/week, that's about 5000/week.

I guess with the program starting when it did, you'll have about 16K points now. Add 3 weeks @5K gives you a bit over 31K points...about 20K shy...I guess they need to lower the price or put them in a raffle.

Nice thought, but I talked to some of the Jack people and they told me that channel 8 treats them like an orphaned child and basically ignore them...could happen but I doubt it.

I was hoping that they would allow a transfer of points from jack or 760 ---but that's not happening either (since that would be the only way you could accumulate that many points)
interesting about the orphan since they DO have a link(sometimes) to the other sites for 50 points (not available now tho)

Here's from CONSUMER REPORTS November, 2006:
Consumer Reports purchased large servings of fries from three Wendy's restaurants in Westchester County, N.Y., in early September. We sent the fries to an independent lab for fatty-acid analysis. We were surprised to find that the lab tests showed the fries contained significantly more trans fat than the 0.5 grams per serving claimed by Wendy's. To double-check the findings, we purchased fries from the same restaurants at the end of September and sent them to the same lab plus another independent lab for a second set of analyses, which confirmed our initial findings. The average amount of trans fat per serving was 2.5 grams.
