Being in the military can have it's perks. And for those of us whose families are in the military, for the most part, we concider it to be a great job and honor fighting and defending our country and it's people.

My husband and I are stationed at Vandenberg AFB. Well, my husband is actually in Kunsan Korea and I am here. And tonight reminded me of how the military can have it's down times too.

When you are in the military, you move. Fact of life. It can be good and bad. Since being here, I have made a couple of really good friends.

Teri and John. They lived in the house next to me when I first got here. They were wonderful and Teri and I became each others family. Our kids were close in age and it was perfect. They recieved orders and at the beginning of the year moved to the Azores.

And tonight, Rusty and Dewey. Dewey was in my husband's shop. And he is great. While Donnie is away, Dewey took care of most of the 'man' stuff in the house. Well, not really. He would tell me who to call to fix it. :) But he was there for me to help me with my computer and to lend me the lawnmower. Rusty found out she was preggers right before Donnie came home in September. She found out last week she is having a girl. She was my gossip partner and my shopping buddy (boy could we find some deals on kid's clothes!) even though I was the one who walked out with the shopping bags... hmm....

They move on Thursday.

It is not so suckage that in my life I have found wonderful friends like these.

But it sucks that in the career that brought our families together is also what moves us apart.

I love you guys and I will miss you.

crabbie,
On the bright side you have friends in more places. When you are traveling or reassigned you will have opportunities to visit and see old friends again. Keep in touch with them, real friends are hard to find.

oh most definately. Thanks
:)

When I wrote that, they had just left the house after saying our bye's. He reads the forums and is the one that introduced me to gotapex.com in the first place... although he never posts....
