Looking for home security/sensor system.

hi,

I would appreciate alternatives on home security systems that i can install on my own. I am more interested in the sensor functions than actual security - specifically, i'd like to be able to be notified of a. temperature drop (i.e. boiler is kaput) b. water leak (i.e. washing machine blows a gasket) when i'm out of town.

the system that i've been seeing a lot on the net is Skylink (looks simple and affordable) - any reviews on this.Skylink (http://www.skylinksecurity.net/complete_systems.htm)

http://www.smarthome.com has what you are looking for. They have devices which will call you, possibly on your cell phone if a sensor detects something out of range.
