Is it me, or as kids get older they forget that money doesn't grow on trees.

I mean, I thought I was done shopping for Christmas, but then realized that I spent more on Audrey than Mikey. So I had them make their lists (I usually don't need them because I pretty much know what they are going to ask for and usually I don't have to ask - they give me one at the beginning of October.)

Mikey wants a RobosapienV2. :gle:
He also wants no chores and $10.95 :hihi:

Santa is only bringing one thing me, err, I mean to them. They are getting the Wii. And Patrick was getting an Elmo TMX but it arrived broken :bawl:

So, now I have to shop again.

With just over 8 weeks until Christmas, how are you all doing on shopping?

I'm almost done! Then again, I start in August, and pick here and there. December is a lovely month for me :)

Hint: He is probably thinking the RobosapienV2 can actually do his chores (and homework and walk the dog, etc., etc.)
$10.95 might the amount he needs to get some for his dear mom or maybe his main squeeze. ;)

i actually never buy the kids stuff, until this year. poor little dramaqueen wants nothing more than a lego c3p0 - which is of course limited edition, out of print, and fabulously expensive. i managed to win a HUGE lot of star wars toys on ebay for $50 that had two lego sets with c3p0 and r2d2 in them (and nifty little star wars lunchboxes which will be perfect for presenting them in) so that's what each of the twits are getting for xmas.

while shopping for a 2-year-old girl (which i think is hands-down the toughest demographic to find something cool for) eg saw a really cool building toy called wedgits, so i got him a $25 set.

after 5 years of watching auctions on ebay, i finally managed to acquire a tenor sax for prm (yts-23, retail $2100) for a couple hundred dollars... got it, repaired it, hid it in eg's room... and then forgot to hide the new box of reeds i had bought for it, so i gave it to him early and he's been happily playing the crap out of it :)

the 8-year-old boy on my list gets an airzooka (as does his dad :D)
the 2-year-old girl is getting zimmbos

her momma get a nice set of asian dishes on a bamboo tray, loaded up with sushi-shaped candy i will make (that's going to be so much fun... rice krispie treats wrapped around dried fruits, rolled in dark chocolate and sesame seeds to simulate california rolls, chocolate and caramel dipping sauces, pickled ginger, and pistachio paste to simulate wasabi)

nodamnsense is getting lego star wars ii
his wife is getting... a textbook (eek. feels like cheating, but she never likes the fun stuff i buy, and i think she'll really like this, so...)
their 2-year-old boy is easy - thomas the tank engine crap! that stuff is ungodly expensive, but i got a cool $50 building for $20 on ebay...

nodamnsense's mom is getting an AWESOME book i found at goodwill... it's called "crowns," and it's a book of portraits of black women in church hats, with accompanying essays.

nodamnsense's dad is getting... a case of red dog. because what the hell else do you get a 60-something retired riverboat captain from kentucky? ;)

still have to figure out my parents... i was going to get them a new 5.8 ghz phone system, because their old ones drive me batty, but apparently they're happy with them, so that's not real cool... and prm's parents. my sister and her husband get stuff off their amazom wishlists. almost done!!

My family is so boring, they have no hobbies. It's incredibly hard to shop for them :/.

Been busy making soap here, I like to give people stuff I've made. I started doing soap a couple years ago and everyone seems to love it. Best part is that it gets used up, so I can give 'em all more of the same thing year after year. Though it usually is different: so many different fragrances, colors and designs, etc to play with.
