Ok. Enough of the icky karma. Favorite car you've ever owned....

1972 Buick Gran Sport Stage 1. Aztec Gold, 455, 4 speed, posi. Fast fast fast and Lord All Mighty was it fun to drive! It still campaigns in Houston at the drag track all these years later. It never got me laid and no one my age knew what it was, but all the cops let me go when I was caught racing or speeding because they all had friends that had one/wanted one in college. Great car.

My '71 Chevelle - Big block 402/350 horse, short-shaft T400, 12 bolt posi. It was optioned weird, too - cruise, but no tilt (they usually came together back then) and power locks but manual crank windows... It had to have been special-ordered - I never looked for the build sheet. I've never seen another one like it.

Note that this was not a two-door SS, but a Concours Estate wagon complete with vinyl woodgrain. A true wolf in sheep's clothing. Best $950 I ever spent (this was 20 years ago - old wagons are the shiznit now, but you couldn't give them away in the early '80s).

I smoked many a new 5.0 Mustang and Z-28 with it at the time. The wagon weighed about 200 lbs. more than a two-door SS, but since all the extra weight was over the rear wheels it hooked better out of the hole.

That, and my current Caddy have been my absolute favorites, though the Saab 900S I wrote about in the "worst" thread is the only car I ever owned that I wouldn't want back.

Most fun:
1985 Subaru XT, GL trim, 4 banger, injected, 2WD, automatic, dark metallic blue (aka the flying wedge). Car handled like it was glued to the road. Not a lot of power but definitely enough to have fun. Shift points on the tranny were PERFECT for performance driving. Since this car was basically designed in a wind tunnel, the faster you drove it, the better it handled. Engine pulled hard all the way to the 6500 rpm redline. Drove it like I stole it and still got 27 mpg. Bought it new, owned it for only 2 1/2 years. I still regret selling that car.

Most reliable:
1989 Toyota PU, 4 banger, injected, 2wd, automatic. Bought it from dealer overstock in 1990 with 46 miles on it. 180,000 miles later, the only parts than have been replaced are: starter, front engine seal, valve cover gasket, rear bumper (rusted out), and the rest are "consumables" shocks, brakes, plugs, etc. Lots of fun to drive, but in a different way than the Subaru. It's like a Swiss Army knife, it'll do anything I want it to do. When I lived in Wisconsin, driving in the snow was great. Many times I'd drive past guys in lifted 4WD trucks with mudders... and mine was factory stock with all-season tires! Plus I'm still driving it!!

My first car ever-- 1991 Plymouth Acclaim LX. It had power windows/locks/mirrors which was not standard for a kid in highschool (1999-2002) and a V6 which made lots of torque (183lb/ft) at a low 2500RPM. Really fast from about 0-40 when the engine lost its balls (141hp) and easy to make noise with tires.

Honestly, my current car the Chrysler 300C is the "most fun" so far... goo gobs of power and luxury items out the ying yang. :D

I did love my '96 T'Bird... but honestly it doesn't hold much of a candle to my 300C. :D

But seriously, I have fun with all of my cars.... especially since I like to mod them out and such. I've don'e less "body work" modifications to the 300c, but oh... the power tweaks have made the difference. :D

Not any kind of special car, but I loved the layout of my '86 Nissan Stanza Wagon. For a "small car", that thing had more room inside than anything I've ever seen, and the utilitarian layout (back seat folds up, etc.) was great.

i think beleave it my wife old 1999 saturn sc-1 sport coupe lease she had . only keep it 2 years but it was fun . till the end when we desided it was just to small in side ,
but it was great for short drives . up to 2-3 hour max . then you feel the seats . when we first got it . i got pulled over for no reason but to have the cop check it out ! used a stop sign that was not there as the reason .and all he wanted to know was what it was i was driving .and what the price of the car was .also wanted to see under the hood and check out the leather inside ! i bet he bought one the way he was talking after he stop me .

My current CPO '03 325i (bought at 8000 miles in Apr. '04, now with 51000). Sports package. Premium package. Underpowered, sure, and max torque is at rather high RPM, but if you keep the tach around there, you'd never know it only has 184 horses.

Handles better than any car I've owned, and I thought my '91 Camaro would turn on a dime. Brakes like a Porsche. No body roll. Occasionally the traction/DSC/DSM nanny will override my right foot's desires (will decrease or blip the throttle when I gun it, say, in a turn, while trying to induce oversteer - throttle is cut and the inside rear left brake is applied or something.) But I can turn that off.

And it handles at speed wonderfully, while getting 34 mpg at 75-80 or so. No bumps or rattles when going er...way over those speeds. THANK YOU V1! Only 16-18 in the city tho. :(

The '06 335 coupe has dual turbos, something BMW isn't known for, and makes ~300 hp for not much more than a loaded 330. It's like an M3 without the race-car bumpiness and noise.

I think Quattro is overrated anyway. Wonderful in the rain, snow, etc. But a good RWD car with a decent stablity control system works wonderfully too. And gets better mileage. I love getting 30+ on the highway at slightly extralegal speeds at times.

Wow that's cool. I've been eyeing the 335 coupe, but not sure i want to make heft car payments again. LOL. Still...sounds like a sweet ride.

I can think of one instance where Quattro came in handy. I was driving down PCH from the bay area down to LA and it was foggy and rainy that day. That's once all year long. LOL

My 1997 BMW M3 that I have now is an awesome car. I had a 92 Mustang GT convertible which was more fun when you put the pedal down, but it didn't handle as well and wasn't as refined. Gas is 22MPG average and can get 29 on the highway, but I am not light on the gas pedal. :) At 175K, it is still immaculate inside and out and burns 1/2 quart every 4-5 thousand.

The '90 Sentra I used to have was fun but only 'cause it's the only one with a manual tranny I've ever owned; I love driving standard. It was kind of fun having to do donuts in reverse due to it being FWD though. Really amazing how well it did in the snow, much much better than I had expected it would. One time I was came home after being gone for a few days and found a foot of snow in the driveway and maybe a two foot bank at the end from where the plows had piled it up. There's a small side street that comes to a T right across from the house, so I backed up there a ways to get up some speed, shot across into my driveway, and plowed my way the 100 or so feet to the back where I used to park. That was after driving over 100 miles on roads with at least 3-4 inches of snow on them, somtimes up to a foot due to drifting.

My current vehicle is a '93 Cherokee and I absolutely love it. It's in good enough shape that it's still decent looking and solid, but old enough that I don't mind beating on it a bit. I love jumping up on the curve and trying to hit my friends when I see them walking somewhere. Couldn't do that in something with less ground clearance. The thing goes anywhere in 4WD.. mud, snow, you name it. I slid @ss end first into a pretty deep ditch during a snowstorm once. Just popped it in four wheel, rocked it back and forth a bit and she came right out. And I can fit 10' lumber inside with all the doors and windows closed. One of the few things I don't like about it is the sound system 'cause the enclosures only fit 5 1/4" speakers; you can't get much 'umph' unless you wanna get really creative and do some kind of custom job. Newer Cherokees are better endowed in that category though. The 4.0L I6 gives good acceleration and it rides smooth as glass up past 100mph or so. I dunno what it tops out at 'cause the speedometer only has markings to 85, but I'd guess maybe 115. Some day when I have more money to play with (i.e. when I'm done paying student loans off) I'd like to get a mid 90s Cherokee or Wrangler and pimp the sh|t out of it. You can get DIY kits for just about anything- 6" lifts, bumpers, winches, roll cages, stainless exhaust, skid plates, engine mods, etc. Not something I'd drive to work every day. I might just have it as a lot truck to plow snow and run around fields with. I think that'd be fun.

I loved that car because it did what i told it to do. so very predictable. so very reliable. yes, a k car was reliable for me. (until my dad ran into a deer with it....)

favorite was probably my 1985 pontiac Fiero 4 cylinder left stock. 5 speed and the mid engine placement made the thing handle like a roller coaster. lots of torque but not too much hp.
I now have a 2000 Honda Prelude SH with all sorts of mods. handles better and faster but must still give the nod to the fiero. was younger and just loved that car. junked it...waaaaaaaah
