Now, obviously my camera is nowhere near zippyjuan's...just a 5 MP Kodak Easyshare on long exposure here - but man, the WWII memorial is breathtaking at night.

I have to tell you when i was in DC over the summer(visiting some chums on the board:) ) that memorial was my favorite.
I kinda stumbled on it when I was there, because last time i was in DC it didn't exist.
the quotations were the most moving part for me, that or all those stars.

Having nice equipment is not necessary for getting a good picture. I think you did a great job and love the shot! I love night shots. Five mega pixels are plenty. Most people aren't going to print over 8x 10 size anyways. It is about using what you have and learning how to get what you want with it. Seeing is 90% of the process in photography. The rest is technical and anyone who wants to can learn that. Seeing is harder to teach. Keep up the good work!

That's a really nice pic. I like the symmetry, the curves, and the contrast between light and dark. It's active because you know the water is moving, yet calming because it's so balanced. Really neat!

Here's one of mine that's currently set as my desktop background. Taken with my ancient (5 years old) 2.1MP Fuji FinePix 2100. I've been really happy with the pics I get from this camera, the 8x10s are good enough that one of 'em won a top prize at the county fair. Though I have been pining for a Digital Rebel or similar digital SLR.
