i'd like to put together a funky mix of alternate versions of traditional christmas songs, in the vein of jazz, blues, or oldies music.

can you guys recommend some versions of christmas songs done interestingly or particularly well by people in these genres?

for example, i would most definitely include Otis Redding's version of White Christmas, like the one featured on the Love Actually soundtrack:
