Star Trek Personality Test Results: ENFP

This test says you are an ENFP (Extrovert, Intuitive, Feeler, Perceiver).* In Star Trek, you share a basic personality configuration with the characters of James Kirk and Julian Bashir.

"The game isn't chess. It's poker." - Kirk

Qualities

People like you are generally great problem-solvers. You're highly innovative, creative and unique. You're optimistic by nature, which may make others believe you're naive, but actually you're full of energy, very clever, and determined not to be stopped. You're outgoing, curious, and extremely playful. Others are sometimes taken aback by your enthusiasm, but it keeps you going after others have dropped.

You're deeply caring, sensitive, and gentle, which, combined with your need to solve problems, may make you a little too eager to give others advice. You also process information very quickly, which may make others believe you're not listening to them. Before you share your feelings, you have to have time to process them.

You're adaptive and resourceful, but sometimes highly disorganized. You dream of having the perfect assistant, and, should one come along, you will treasure them beyond price. You respond best to people who encourage your unique viewpoints and insights, help you maintain harmony, and want to play and explore with you. You don't respond well when you're overwhelmed with details or when you're in a rigid situation.

Goals

Your primary goal in life is freedom to see possibilities, make connections, and be with a variety of people. Your reward is having spontaneous adventures.

Work

You're best employed in a position that can inspire others, winning them over with your zest and sincerity. You feel conflicts deeply, particularly in regards to personal ideals. You love new things, but often end up rejecting them when they fail to live up to your standards. You're a born crusader, and your gut instincts serve you very well indeed.

As much as you want perfection in relationships, you're very good at dealing with compromises at work, as long as everything fits within your general understanding of how things should be.

You tend to put off work you don't find interesting, so a good supervisor should help you balance your time between the new and innovative things you love and the routine that you tolerate.

Relationships

You want perfection in your relationships, so while you might take forever to give up on a bad relationship you care about, you may also abandon still-new friendships and loves at the first hint of imperfection or dullness. You love to be in love, and thrive on other's admiration, which you will readily return.

Your most difficult relationship may well be with yourself. Your own faults may bother your so deeply that you bury them, pretending to yourself that all is well when, in fact, you need help or a change. If the stress becomes extreme, your own sense of self-preservation may turn that deception outwards, blaming others for your own perceived faults.

Jobs

Good careers for your type include being an advertising account executive, starship captain, career counselor, developer of educational software, actor, graphics designer, corporate team trainer, psychologist, inventor, medical pioneer, and child welfare counselor.

Star Trek Personality Test Results: ESTJ

This test says you are an ESTJ (Extrovert, Sensor, Thinker, Judger).* In Star Trek, you share a basic personality configuration with the characters of William Riker, B'Elanna Torres, and Charles "Trip" Tucker.

"I don't inflate my work estimates. When I say 24 hours, I mean it." - Torres

Qualities

People like you are generally quick decision makers (as long as emotions aren't involved), organized and efficient. Your personality is charismatic, friendly and energetic, but you take life seriously and can be quite opinionated on your own turf. You're extremely outspoken when you feel you're in the right. You have great trouble dealing with people who are dishonest and/or disorderly.

You're highly productive, realistic, and sensible. You're great at dealing with problems as long as you can take them systematically. Somewhat of a traditionalist, you're distrustful of new and untested ideas, and you're more than a little blunt telling others how you feel about them, or about whatever other faults you see. When you give a compliment, however, you mean it.

Goals

Your primary goal in life is doing the right thing, and being in charge. This is balanced by a faith in the tried and true, which means you are happy out of the driver's seat, as long as you have faith in the driver.

Work

Your reward is to be appreciated by others and have your opinion respected. You also enjoy having others willingly follow your orders. Your best work environment is orderly and disciplined, but you're a good people-person, so social interaction is an important part of your routine. You cannot abide dealing with others who will not do their work or those who have no ideals. But this can also mean you have trouble recognizing others' ideals, or agreeing with them even when you do see them.

Relationships

You prize family over friendships, but once a friend becomes "family" to you, you will be their friend literally for life. You have the strength, patience, and fortitude to be a great parent, but you are hampered by your difficulties in dealing with other people's feelings and with the "messiness" of relationships. In a mate, it is vital that you select someone who is in touch with their emotions and will demand the same of you.

Jobs

Good careers for your type include being a command officer, pharmacist, starship engineer, teacher, cook, and personnel manager.

I'm also on the morning show at a country music radio station.
Yeah, I remember that, where's that GA hookup :)

Unfortunately, the webcast is not possible. Thanks to the RIAA, broadcast stations that play music are pretty much non-existent on the internet, unless they pay big bucks.

Maybe some week I'll set it up for a GA-only audience, but certainly not my first week...
Glad to hear it's working out!

Since I'm a lead engineer in my new job, I'll have to say that 'test' was amusing to say the least.
