Interviewed for a gig a while back at a major defense contractor / IT Security firm. Actually, interviewed there over a year ago and didn't get the job. Went back a year later, interviewed for one of their senior gigs...and got it. :D
I have a good friend who is one of the network engineers there. I have another buddy who's in their IT department, though in another group. I've known both of them for around 10 years; hopefully this will make for a smooth transition. I'll also be working at their Corporate headquarters, with the Senior IT group.
Benefits and 401k lined up just right. Salary was a 19% bump over where I'm at now. Only downside is my commute, should go from 15 minutes a day to ~30. No biggie, though.
Best part: they'll be sponsoring me in getting my security clearance. Here in DC, that's like IT gold. :hihi:
