I was happy to see the Chargers play a great game today against a great team and a long-time rival, the Denver Broncos. The Chargers have been spanked in Denver the last 5 out of 6 games, and so the odds-makers favored the Broncos. The Broncos played well the first half but were overtaken by the explosive offense lead by LaDanian Tomlinson and Phillip Rivers. The Chargers made an incredible come back from 17 points in the second half, reminicent of their 21 point comeback last week. LT scored 4 Touchdowns for the second straight week. He showed his class by celebrating each touchdown by handing the ball over to the referee, rather than doing the Ickey Shuffle or something Owen-esqe. I thought it was especially cool because he did it on a national stage, perhaps showing a younger generation what a true great player does. The Chargers certainly had their problems today, but when it came down to when it mattered, the Chargers played like champs.
The Chargers have Shawn "bad supplement" Merriman coming back as well as Louis Castillo. These two guys are critical to the defense. With the offense doing as well as it has, strenghthening up the defense makes the Chargers look like the team to beat.

LT is having an amazing year. He scored 19 touchdowns in the last 6 games and is the fastest to reach 100 TDs. Looks like this is going to be the Chargers' year to win the SB. They had came back from at least 17 points down back-to-back.
It would be nice to see a CA team to win the SB. My favorite team (49ers) is beating expectations this year with a 5-5 record so far.
One game at a time. There's plenty of game left. eSDee, when we find out the playoff schedule I've got a ticket waiting for ya!

LT has scored more touchdowns (22) than 18 other TEAMS.
He needs just six more for the season touchdown record- about one a game for the rest of the season.
The Chargers will only get better when some of their defensive players currently out come back.
Rivers ended the longest current streak of passes without interceptions (122 before the game) and has only thrown five so far this season.
Most of their remaining games are at home starting with the Raiders next week. Yes, I think things look good for the Chargers!

This game was especially pleasing because as many of you know ,my youngest son lives in Castle Rock, Co and has been a die-hard Bronco fan for most of his 28 years. It was really nice to be able to call him and yell GOOOO Chargers!! I keep telling him it is elder abuse for my 4 year old granddaughter to tell me
GO Broncos every time we talk during football season. Now if they can just beat them at home it will be a great season (until they win the SB)then it will be a perfect season!
