Would you really go out and buy a car (with a ribbon on it in your driveway) for your spouse and not ask him/her if you could afford to do it?

With all the different types and models available I know for sure.

I wouldn't dare try to pull that off for my wife!

Yeah, its kind of retarded for someone to run out and buy a car for their spouse without consulting with them first. Its not like you're going out to buy jewelery or something. And what if he/she doesn't like it? its not like you can take it back for a refund or store credit.
That said, this is the best time to go out and buy a 06 model. A coworker of mine managed to get 11k off a Acura RL at Tustin Auto Center in OC. And my friend in SD for his TL for 32.8k out the door. Fairly decent deals if you ask me.

Buying an 06 is only worth it if you plan on keeping the car and aren't concerned with resale value. At this point, you would be paying close to new car prices for a car that is a year old.

If you typically drive your cars for 7 or 8 years it is a great deal.

Hahaha, you know my wife and I were JUST talking about this last night. She said the same exact thing "would someone really go out and buy a car without asking the spouse?"

We determined, unless the two have already discussed it and decided they CAN afford the loan...that it may be a good idea. But yeah...just buying a car on a whim...unless you are super rich, is not the best gift. I'd be excited..but too worried about the payments.

Maybe we should send Lexus a memo and tell them their commercials are retarded. haha. but then, i think the fact that we noticed, its successful marketing on their part. :D
