I can suggest that you save yourself some future headaches by NOT buying a Sony notebook.

Get a Lenovo Thinkpad or a Dell.

For personal and home office use and many drawings will be stored. The budget will be somewhere around 1500 and up to 2000.

You do not need over $1500 for "personal and home office" use. Laptops are much cheaper these days and you should be able to get a sufficient one for $1,000. (I think you can get one for $700 or so but you may want more options)
