humor me for a minute or two...I have a cold, and I'm drugged up, and very drowsy...random thoughts...bare with me =)
anywho...I showed my students a math video of donald duck etc etc. Thats not the point. The point is...the vid made huge point to bring up the pentagram and the mathematical perfection of the pentagram. A lot of nature and is derived from the pentagram. In the days of Pythagoras, the church was greatly opposed to the idea of having anything describe nature besides God. SO, some Pythagoreans made a secret society of math nerds with the emblem of the pentagram to show they were in this secret society. The secret society discussed findings of nature/music/everything using math. MY GUESS...the church didn't like they were using math to describe Gods nature, which is why they made this secret club of math nerds to discuss such findings. Anywho...using the secret emblem of the pentagram, they now have this club.
I think push came to shove, and everybody got pissed off at everybody. NOW...something as simple as math describing nature came to math nerds hating the church and the church hating math nerds. These people became separated from the church and later on took a hating to the church and the symbol of the pentagram became skewed, turned upside down and instead of this club being math nerds, it evolved to a group hating the church. And later on being called Satanist.
yeah...I have no idea if any of my assumptions are historically correct. and to be honest...I really don't care. I'm sick...drugged...and drowsy. And I'm sticking with that as my excuse for writing this thread. happy trails all. And by all means, if you guys wanna correct me...go right ahead. I won't be hurt.
