To see an "oncoming car" on any of those mountain roads would be...

Man that Russian road is crazy and that hiking trail in China! :gle:

When I was a kid living in Mexico we used to often drive to Puerto Vallarta and Manzanillo. Lots of the roads were similar to those narrow, winding mountain roads in the pictures. Man, going round and round on a mountain would get me soooooooooo car sick. If you managed to get close enough to the edge you'd always see several charred vehicles at the bottom of the drop and the road ways had crosses and sometimes even shrines along the side.

that russian road looks horrible...reminds me of some of the routes taken in the "Long Way Round" series (Ewan McGregor and his pal go around the world on motorcycles)

Worst road in the world? Take your pick - The 5, the 405, the Dan Ryan, the LIE, the DC / MD / VA Beltway, The Atlanta Bypass (I-485) and plenty of other metro / commuter routes. :)
