Hey all, my roomate and I just recently purchased a dreamcast, and we were wondering how we would go about "backing up" our friends games for our "temporary" use. =). Anyway, we have looked around the web, and everything seems way more complicated than I originally thought it would be. I am really confused about how to do it, and I was wondering if someone on this board could walk me through the process.

This thread was moved from General Hardware forum.

Since this is for "backing up" purposes this thread will be allowed to stay up.

This sites owners would not appreciate this bbs and site being used for the promotion of warez.

It's bak-up copies. Incase my friend's original disk is somehow destroyed, like in a fire. He has to be able to play his games somehow, so we offered to store his "back-up games." :P

hehe - the fire excuse is soooo old! :D
how about "in case your friends three little kids lock the cat in the closet with the PS2 game CD's that usually don't get put back in their cases..."

BTW, I my be wrong, but it's my understanding that Sony prohibits any copies, even legit backup copies.

Also, http://www.goldenhawk.com makes excelent burner software that I understand may complete the task at hand. You'll probably have to actually BUY the software though, since it's nearly impossible to get to work right w/o purchasing it.

I learned that the hard way. Now, I just do it at 1X, usually overnight.
