Holy crap. I just went to Best Buy, and I think they had at least 30-40 PS3's at the front of the store. Nobody was even looking at them. Must not be selling too well, since they probably put them out yesterday.

Not sure if anybody cares about the current version of the PS3. I'm waiting for the $2,000 version they just announced.

While I was in Ohio, I went to a Game Craze to see if they had Electroplankton for DS. Some dude bought a NEW PS3. The girl behind the counter kept telling him that she didn't want to see it returned. She also said that someone else returned one earlier and another person called to return theirs later that day. The dude buying the PS3 wanted it more for the blue ray player than anything. But the girl kept telling him that she didn't want to see it returned LOL. And it will come to NO surprise, no Wiis

Was this at the Westminster store on sheridan? I saw that pallet still full on Sunday at 11:30AM there were probably about 35 stacked on it.

Yes, no one was even looking at them. The sales guy was actually trying to convience people to buy them.

I have a PS3 and it's the worst thing I bought this year. No games, hardware buggy. Crap all around.

I bet those folks who camped out in front of the store for a week prior to launch or, worse yet, paid $1k+ for the thing on eBay are feeling like tools right about now.

Waiting on a 360 price drop.

Ahhh see but the PS3 weighs a 1/4 metric ton. It's a security feature so you can't just walk off with one.

Get a 360 (one of the best consoles of all time in my opinion) or a Wii.

Wii for the win! Honestly hands-down the most fun console I've had in a long long time.

I've also been seeing a number of reports that the PS3s are sitting on the shelves, and the Wiis are nowhere to be found. Getting sold-out as soon as they come in.

I'm thinking between the Wii and the PS3, Wii's gonna win by a landslide. Against 360 I'm not so sure yet..

We were at Target yesterday, 3 Wii's and 9 PS3's came in.

The Wii's didn't stay in the store long enough for us to buy a second one to resell - the PS3's were still there when I went back later...

You play it 20 hours out of each day? Holy crap man!

Okay, 20hours/day was an exaggeration.. I still love the thing, never turn it off, and have yet to see any problems firsthand with the hardware.
Admittedly the user interface for the system is kinda ****ty, like having to exit out of games to change settings, but not even x360 got that stuff correct on their first release of software/firmware....

my 360 is most influential console I have ever owned. 2nd thought, my N64 was the most influential, but the 360 is my favorite.

It's amazing where you can put a wiimote when you have a roll of duct tape lying around.

Damn it to hell...I still cant get a Wii. I ab hoping to find one this coming week...but I seem to get to te stores 20 minutes after they sell their last box. :disa:

As for the PS3...I havent seen one for sale without a bundle. Although it might be the fact that I live in an area where the average person has more money than sense and loves to spoil their grandchildren. :hihi:

They have them available on bestbuy.com or at least did very recently. You'll pay $10 for shipping but that isn't much if you really want one.

Edit: Scratch that. I just checked on bestbuy.com and they are sold out. I have one that I'd be willing to sell if you are interested. PM if you are interested.

I'm glad someone else thinks so too. I really like the 360. The hardware is solid. The dashboard is great. Xbox Live is good as always. Controller is simple. Games are outstanding.

They even have a VGA cable for it. Hear that Sony you freaking bastards?

Sony announced that they have finally shipped (not necessarily sold) their one millionth PS3 unit to the US.

Sony Sells Millionth PlayStation 3 Console in North America.
One Million PlayStation 3s Sold in the USA, Canada and Mexico

Sony Computer Entertainment America announced on Monday that it had shipped over one million of PlayStation 3 game consoles to its partners in North America. The number exceeds pessimistic predictions regarding PS3 shipments, however, it is still below Sony’s original optimistic estimates.

“SCEA went to great lengths to help meet demand for PS3, including airlifting systems into North America on a weekly basis to ensure a steady stream of units were available to consumers throughout the holiday season,” said Jack Tretton, president and chief executive, SCEA.

Sony said back in 2006 that it would only be able to ship 400 thousand of PlayStation 3 game consoles to the North America and 100 thousand to Japan for the launch in November, 2006. The manufacturer failed to meet its “day one” shipments targets due to manufacturing issues. During the whole calendar year 2006 the company aimed to distribute, according to news reports, two million new-generation consoles, two times less than anticipated originally. However, with only one million PS3s sold in North America and the lack of any claims regarding sales numbers for Japan, it is highly likely that Sony did not ship two million PlayStation 3 game consoles in calendar 2006.

Still, even one million sold next-generation consoles in one of Sony’s important regions indicates that the PlayStation 3 is still very popular among consumers despite its pretty high retail pricing.

“The fact that we were able to reach the one-million mark faster than our top-selling platform, PS2, further validates the strength of the PlayStation brand and our belief that consumers are ready to experience true high-definition gamin,” Mr. Tretton said.

Sony PlayStation 3 console is based on the Cell processor developed by IBM, Sony and Toshiba, the RSX graphics chip by Nvidia Corp. and will be equipped with Blu-ray optical disk drive. There are two versions of the PlayStation console available: one is equipped with 20GB hard disk drive and priced at $499, another features 60GB hard drive, card reader and some other improvements and is offered for $599.
