My brother just ordered the PS3 for me on Amazon and he was able to use the Amex Wishlist coupon. It came out to $450. I wasn't expecting to get it but I guess now I have a PS3. I know some people have been ragging on the console but $450 for at least the Blue-ray DVD capability ain't too shabby. I have a 26 Pannie LCD that can only display up to 1080i. That should be ok for now right? Aside from Fall of Man, what other game should I get. That WWII fighter plane game seems pretty cool.

American express was having a promotion (http://www.gotapex.com/got-deals/146006-american-express-my-wishlist.html)last month where they gave away various coupons & offered stuff for sale at crazy prices if you clicked in at the right time. One of the prizes was a coupon good for 25% off of anything at Amazon.

Just so you know the Amex Wishlist coupon for Amazon is only good for purchases up to $600 (or $150 off). I was thinking about using it to get the 42" Pannie Plasma but it would only have gotten me $150 off so I said nah.

THE BEST coupon offered by amex. and it's not a one-time use coupon either. as long as you use the same amex card, and buy from stuff sold directly by amazon, you can use it over and over again (for up to $150 off total). i just used the coupon and saved on a 2gb microsd card (after having used it prior for some christmas shopping). :)

oh, and congrats on the ps3. if i happen to get another amazon cert. from amex, i might use it to buy the xbox360 v.2 (http://www.engadget.com/2007/01/05/the-second-xbox-360-revealed-codename-zephyr/). woohoo!

I have a PS3 and I only have NBA 2k7 which I don't suggest getting since it's nothing to write home about. I think you have to wait before getting any games worth your while. Resistance is ok, but when you have Gears of War and Vegas on the 360 it blows away Resistance. The PS3 launch titles could be one of the worst sets in history.

Can you get Vegas on PS3? That might be good. Also look at Need for Speed Carbon and Fight Night Round 3 (check Gamerankings first). I've heard that the first killer games for the PS3 are Virtual Fighter 5, Motorstorm, and that car racing game that I cannot remember (there's a demo on the PS3 network).

You know what's funny. From the month of December my brother has bought the 360 core system for $100 on Amazon, the Wii at CC and he was able to use some sort of coupon and now we got the PS3 on Amazon at a discount. I think my family has all of our bases covered right now on the consoles.
