About 15 miles, about 25 minutes.

Here in the Metro DC area, I'll take that. I'm out the door by 8:00A, home by 5:30P. :thumb:

Hell, even here in the 'Ham my fifteen miles takes 30 - 45 minutes at standard commute times. This depends of course upon the number of incidents (I refuse to call them "accidents" beacuse there ain't a damned thing accidental about 99% of them...) between my points of departure and arrival.

Abotu thirty miles. From 40 min. to 1.5 hours, depending on traffic and whether I take the bus or ride with someone else.

I'm currently ~7 miles and 10-15 minutes away. Once the house is built I'll be ~25 miles and 40 mins away.

35 miles. On a good day, can do it door to door in 45 minutes, but on a bad day, have taken usually an hour to an hour and fifteen minutes, with the record being four hours (!).

Of my relatively brief (~9 months) of commuting, two events come in my mind as far as long commutes were concerned:

Number 1 -
In May, the Boston area had a record rainfall causing a major flood unseen in decades. Being fairly new to the company - so new to a point I'm not even on the contact list - combined with the fact that I had grossly underestimated just how flooded the river was, I set myself out for the road. I knew that it was gonna be real bad when the bridge to cross the river - and a pretty tall one at that too - was closed and the nearest one as well. I drove along the river for about five miles before I crossed the bridge to the other side of the river (which I later found out had closed shortly after my crossing). Well, my building, which is a road away from the river, was unapproachable to say the least. I only had my camera phone which I never use, but had to take this to have it in my history books.

Total elapsed time: 2 hours and 15 minutes

Number 2 -
This one's less exciting. On a Friday I had a major deadline at work and had planned on coming in that Saturday to finish up, because I felt like making the best out of my Friday night and because I'd be too drained at work if I worked a long Friday after a long week. So I left at my usual time thinking I'd get in for about four, five hours of work Saturday.

On the way down, there were brakelights at a normally crowded junction of two interstates - nothing new, I figured. As it turned out, there was a major accident right by the junction involving a tractor trailer and a fatal injury. As I found out later, there was a medical flight involved which required to the police closing off the highway altogether for the landing - the highway remained closed for two hours and the traffic was easily seven miles long by the time the road opened up again. As for me, I was stuck between a stretch of highway between two exits, so I was totally stuck along with thousands of cars. Lucky for me, next to me was a limo full of girls going out for someone's Bachelorette party so I was kept amused most of the time. In the end though, I wound up getting back late, with my Friday night plans busted, and still had to go back the next day! :throw: If I had only bitten the bullet and stayed long...

Total elapsed time: 4 hours.

My commute consists of 4-6 hours of travel on Monday and Thursday or Friday and then about 15 minutes each way during the week.

In the old days around here, the immediate response would have been "You must work for Arthur Andersen!"

About 500 feet. Takes a couple minutes to walk it because of the neighbor's dog. I thought I'd have the shortest commute but Jenny beat me cuz' she works from home.

Funny thing is this is the second job I've had that I could walk to. The other was about 2 blocks when I lived in Wisconsin.

6 miles but I need to drop off my son on the other direction for 5 miles. So it ends up with 16 miles in total each way.

11 miles, half highway. It takes between 30-45 minutes depending on traffic. If it's 3am, I can go that distance in about 25.

18 miles

Morning = 30 minutes

Afternoon = 1 hour

I love the 405. I've found it's easier to take streets home. The view is nicer, and I'm not stuck in traffic.
