Yesterday morning while at work I received a call from my mom informing me that one of my good friends had been killed in a car accident earlier in the morning. He had crashed into the back of a parked semi on I-55. Thankfully, it didn't look like he had to suffer at all.

He was a great friend for the past ten years and will be missed by many.

I guess this is a reminder that life is short and motor vehicles require our complete attention at all times despite how routine of a trip you are taking.

Drive safely everyone.

When you get to a certain age, you expect to lose some friends to illness etc. But it is the accidents and sudden deaths that really hit hard. I have been to 2 funerals this week. Both guys younger than me (I'm 58) Both from cancer. 1 expected and one totally unexpected. The most you can hope for is that your friend didn't suffer. And remember " No one gets out of this life alive."

Yeow, that sucks. I'm sorry to hear of your loss.

He wasn't driving a red corvette, was he?

I'm sorry for your loss. We don't think that accidents would happen to us, but events like these are what opens our eyes.
