For those of you who have had your wii for a wiile (couldn't help it), I was wondering if you still play it a lot and still think highly of it. I am thinking of getting one because I played wii sports Bowling over the weekend and had a blast. Are you all still thinking it is awesome, or has the initial thrill worn off?

i got my wii from launch day and i'm STILL trying to beat zelda. it's so frustrating and fun at the same time. and when i need to take a break from that game, i got excite truck, wii sports, and elebits to keep me occupied.
so yes, i'm still playing.

i'm thinking about getting that too, if i can find it cheap enough. i haven't played a madden game since SNES. is it as good as the reviews say it is?

Still Good. I'd play more if I didn't have a 6 month old puppy to take care of.

It's mostly a social machine for entertaining guests. But yeah, still love it.

Wow really? I got my Wii less then 2 weeks ago. I'm on the last dungeon. :) Got there lastnight. One more to go and it's done. Will be the first game I have played to completion... Ever.

We got ours on launch day.
I found the other night I suck at Zelda. I hate goblin/green dudes riding on pigs.
We still love it. Rayman, sports and even rampage get played alot here.

You might want to try a Meijer's if you have them in your area. My buddy and I went looking for a Wii for him over the weekend. Last place we went was to a local Meijer's. They had none on display, but when asked, they said yes and he finally got one.
As for still playing our Wii. Yes, my kids play it every night after homework is done. At this time, Super Monkey Ball is the preferred game for the kids. I like Zelda and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Madden was just too complex for me and my 6 y/o to enjoy.

Thank you tgjohns and welcome to G|A. I don't have a Meijer's in my hood but thanks for the advice. I just have to be diligent I suppose.

Meijer's seem to be the place to find them. I had a co-worker get one there last week.

after beating Zelda, I haven't touched my wii (:hihi: ) for weeks. its a great party machine, but not so much for single player fun (well, until Metroid is released...)

i DO still like my wii - and i havent even opened the box yet!
ive been playing with a bunch of friends from work after hours. complete with beer, chips, wings, and pizza!
grown men playing video games...
damn, that little thing's fun! :P :thumbup:
i plan on opening it AFTER i move in to my house. just no room in my tiny apartment right now. hook it up to a cheapass projector, aim it at one of my walls, and VOILA! i got a hugeass screen to play with, and no expensive TV to damage if the controller slips out of my (or other people's!) hands.
my little housewarming gift to myself. :D

In about 4-5 hours I'm going to be standing outside of Target before they open. Said to have at least 24 units at my location. 7am they'll hand out tickets.

Awesome. Hope you get one. They are worth it. The only complaint I have right now is that they don't have a ton of games that I want to play. Although I looked at their coming up titles and there are a few that I hope are cool. Although I liked Zelda a lot, and Rayman is fun in a group.

SCORE!
Got there at 4am with about 3 other cars already there. Someone decided to get out of their car around 5am so we all booked it for spots at the door. My bro and I then sat in folding chairs wrapped in blankets wearing coats, hats, and facemasks until they finally passed out tickets at around 7am. Went in as the doors opened at 8am and picked my beloved Wii up.

SCORE!!!!
I just happened upon a Wii today. My and the Fiance just had Dim Sum and after went to a Target in HB. Walked around and then came to the electronic area. Well I could not believe my eyes. 8 Wiis. While we figured out if we wanted it or not, some kid also saw it, and hyper ventilated. His mom bought him one and he was still breathing fast and hard.... sheesh. So we ended up getting the Wii.
Part two. We started the great Wiimote and Nunchuck hunt. Three different targets nothing. Toys R Us, nothing. Games 4 less. Well I got there, but some bastard (lucky) infront of me picked up the last two remote and nunchuck (he paid 45 for the wiimotes and 30 for the chucks). I thought I was out of luck. Called the closest Blockbuster to me and the girl said that they only had chucks (30 bucks). With this stuff being hard to find I figured why nto, might as well pick up the chucks. Got there, no chucks. What they actually had were two WiiMotes. Picked em up for 40 a pop. Now I can play Wii sports with the Fiance :).... umm after I set it up and what not... yawn

Is this the Greatlands target near the BMW or some fancy car place and near best buys? Sorry been to Columbus once and only two one of the targets. But I did pass another one that was near a post office. :)

No, actually this one was near the Polaris fashion mall.

Did you get any other games when you got your wii? We currently just have Wii Sports :)

Nah...just picked up the console and an extra nunchuck (somebody grabbed all the remotes).
I'm planning on going to some other stores and look at games this week....and find another remote.

how many chucks do you really need? Are there any games out there that would require 4 chucks?

The real question is why does nintendo sell the "chucks" alone? Incase your remote dies?

This is also my one complaint: the lack of quality games. Also, the launch dates of a lot of the anticipated games are a bit wishy washy. Games I'm looking forward to: Metroid (they better have multi-player), super mario galaxy (tons of great reviews on this one), and super smash brawl (hopefully they have multiplayer). I should be getting my Wii Play relatively soon, but the reviews were very mixed on that. I just got it because it was 50 bucks and includes a Wiimote. That makes the game itself about 10 bucks.
I'm thinking about getting that one wii music and cooking game. I have no clue how these will turn out though. I'll probably wait a bit until I hear some good things about them.

I got Super Swing Golf yesterday, eventhough people haven't said much about it and the one thing I heard around here was a bad thing. But I did read a good review of it somewhere and decided to give it a shot. I played it a tiny bit yesterday, but I skipped the Tutorial. Looks like I need to go back and do that. It seems like it has potential. I'm hoping that the Tiger Woods Port is good and uses the remote well..
I currently have 4 Wiimotes, and 4 nunchucks. (girlfriend went a bit crazy when she found them [on her own] at Target) so we ended up with a lot. After Wii Play comes out, we'll have 5. As for Nunchucks, the only reason to have more then 1 or 2 is ease of party gaming. If you don't want to have to move them around all of the time.
Rayman actually requires that you have 4 remotes for some of the mini games, but it never says that you need 4 chucks.

5 wii motes and 4 chucks?!?!?! Man you are hardcore. I've been too lazy and only have the single wiimote/chuck combo that game w/ the Wii, and I bout the Wii in Late November! You can only connect 5 wiimotes at one time though right? I know some games have 8 player options, but I thought you needed plug-in controllers (classic or gc controllers) for the additional 4 connections. Does anybody know?

Just for information sake....
What color is the 4th remote hand?
Blue=1
Red=2
Green=3
Purple? Yellow? Orange?
I didn't really see a need for 4 'chucks. I have two 'chucks and 3 remotes. Just waiting to get that 4th.

I could probably check on the 4th later on if I don't feel like being lazy :)
A comment on the 5 wiimotes.
We have 4 now but will have 5 when Wii play comes out( which comes with a wiimote ) My girlfriend decided that we needed 4 Now though so we have them. We have people over (other couples ) and we'll play.. drink and eat dinner.. So we wanted 4 for that. The 5th is just a bonus for when someone breaks one. Which is good since my G/f Already cracked one of our Remotes on the first day but it still works fine :) .. We also have the "Wiimote Condoms" for all of them.. The Colored Rubber Covers. I like them.
I forgot what else we got haha.. So far 4 Games ( 5 if you include Wii Sports )
Zelda , RedSteel, Rayman Raven Rabbids, and Super Swing Golf.

I got the extra chuck because the remotes don't come with them...
Now all I have to do is find the remote instead of both...

I've also noticed that the chucks are hard to find. so good pick up BigJon! I found like a mountain of wii motes at Fry's today. No Chucks though
