I'll definitely take some pictures. I'm still waiting to hear if my wife's travel is included or if I have to pay to drag.. err, bring her along. :) I'm just afraid she'd be bored out of her mind because it looks like the days are actually filled with the driving school stuff.

Well I'm scheduled for mid April for my race weekend. They say to wear "narrow shoes" for the racecar; I wonder if running shoes are narrow enough??

Guess I better ask!

Maybe. They make shoes for drivers. They kinda look like padded wrestling shoes.

I know you can get them in STL but prob find them online just as easy.

Congrats btw :)

That be a blast. When I was young I rode on a rally track before. Still remember it being scary and fun.

Ok... I won another contest.

This time I get to have a gourmet Italian chef flown in to prepare an authentic Italian feast for myself and 10 friends in my home courtesy of Carapelli Olive Oil. Appetizers, 2 main courses, desserts, and wine. I also get a big case of their olive oils.

The cool thing is, we're hoping to have our house built by the end of the year; this will be an very cool thing to help kick off the housewarming.

where are these contests???

I usually see them while browsing around... contest ads, etc.

HGTV seems to have them fairly often as well.

I was counting on winning that... I entered every day I could, and had my mother enter for me when I was away on vacation. Did you see the old man who won it? I had to stop watching within a minute after they "surprised" him... I have to bite my tongue on this one, but here's what I want to say: "C'MON!!!!!!"

Bummer... the chef thing's cancelled because I asked if they could wait until the end of the year so I could have it in the new house. They wanted to it before summer.

SO INSTEAD THEY JUST GAVE ME DA MONEY!!

(I'm so tempted to tell my wife they substituted an LCD tv, Wii, and Xbox 360.)

I figured updating something NSS would help offset my S thread. :)

So the money came for the Italian prize and I just socked it away in the house fund. REAL FUN!! (Being responsible sucks.)

The car racing trip was an absolute blast. It was misting the day we raced so they limited us somewhat in how fast we could go but I was still hitting 140 on the straightaway. The cars handled like gokarts on steroids. Just amazing. The scariest part of the day was right off the bat. We all packed into a 15 passenger van to take the tour around the track. The driver's kind of talking about what lines we should take, braking and accelerating techniques in the turns. We're doing this at a leisurely pace of about 30 mph. He hits the straigtaway and guns it. Lap 2 is somewhat at racing speed...IN A 15 PASSENGER VAN!!! I've never heard a van creak and groan so much like this and I guarantee every other passenger was puckered up tighter than a drum. (like I was) The brake pads were glowing and they smelled god awful when we stopped. The rest of the day was MUCH more enjoyable.

I liked it so much I may go back again someday and actually PAY to do it again.

Here's a few links to some generic photos and a short video clip (with some smart ass commentary by me.)

Cool. glad you had fun... Haha yes racing in passenger vans is kind of dumb. even if you know what you are doing, imagine if something had jumped on course and he couldn't stop or move in time.. That would be game over for that company...

Good job being responsible... i won some money at gambling and bought an xbox 360 and let me tell you its horrible playing gears all day, and taking a break to simulate the nba playoffs in bball. although when i play, Kobe wins every game, uhh i mean the lakers.
