I know, I know -- "buyer beware" when it comes to sites like eBay, but I thought I'd give it a shot.

Ended up purchasing a CueCat barcode reader from a (supposedly reputable) seller based out of the US. Sent out payment via money order (it only came to $15 US with shipping to Canada), and noted in the "My eBay" page that he received payment on February 5th.

A few days ago, I sent an inquiry wondering what the tracking # is since I hadn't received the package yet. He contacted me saying that there is no tracking number for this item and that it was shipped on Feb. 5th (same day he received payment). Also, he noted that shipping to Canadian addresses has been seeing a delay as of late.

So this is nearly two weeks later, I don't have a tracking # to verify he sent the shipment, and sadly I have no product. :(

Give it another couple of days. I just received an ebay item from Toronto. Paid on the 3rd.

Also not every package has "tracking info" unless they pay for it.

I have bought some things on Ebay, but I try to only buy from people I have been referred to or know in some way.

:agree:

Yeah, you should be concerned...but 2 weeks isn't too long. He might have shipped it late, even though he told you it was shipped on the 5th. Hell, I've done that before (forgot to ship something, sent it late, told the buyer it was USPS fault).

If another 7-10 days goes by with no product, then I'd be concerned.

give it time. Canada is slow.I agree with this I have had packages take 6 weeks or longer to get to and from Canada with traders I deal with all the time on other forums. I have learned if I need it in a hurry I just go to a retail outlet and buy it. If I can wait I take it from my Canadian traders! Hope this helps.

Looks like I jumped the gun too soon here -- my Cuecat arrived today and it works great. :)

(Sure made scanning in all my DVD's easy).

How about getting one of those ps2 to USB converers?

I've got a CueCat sitting around somewhere. I picked it up from Radio Shack when I went in looking for a PS2 right-angle connector. The CueCat did the same job, and didn't cost me anything.
