I buy a midrange card when I build a machine and stay with it till it dies or I have a problem playing a game or a graphic program I buy. Then I break down and buy a more powerful card or will build a new rig (have not had those problems as of late thank god)!

Main rig - a Nvidia Geforce FX 5500 -256mb
Test bench rig - a Nvidia FX 6600 -256mb
Wifes rig - Radeon 9600 -256mb

I just upgraded to a EVGA GeForce 7600GT, I also upgraded my proc to a AMD 4400+ X2. :D Yay! They were deals I couldn't pass up. I was thinking about going Core Duo, but then I would have had to buy a new motherboard and ram. So I guess my next upgrade is waiting on other things, like K8L.

I recently bought a BFG GeForce 7800GS AGP card...

I'm not ready to switch to PCI-Express yet, so pretty much this is the top GeForce card for AGP.

I've got a Radeon X1900 Crossfire Master Card sitting in my desktop. Going to upgrade to R600 though once that comes out (Radeon X2800XTX?)

Right now I have an ATI x1600 256MB AGP card (upgraded from a 9800 Pro).

I figure that will be my last AGP card since I'll practically be doing a forklift-upgrade next time.

I have an AGP X800XL. Probably my last card for a while since I do not see enough reason to do a full system upgrade yet.

PCI-e:
7900GT is way too noisy.
6800GT ran too hot and died (being rma'd).
Edit: 7900GS on the way.

AGP:
Radeon 9700 w/silencer = perfect for most things. :)

Well to be able to run my 24" monitor I need the performance. But it's just a PCI-E 7900GT KO. More information on my public profile page, click my name on the left side.
