I wish it'd snow out here in Sacramento. They got like 4 ft up at Tahoe.

it sleeted on Friday night, and I rushed out on Saturday to buy a TV. I'm in the store for about 20 mins, get a nice widescreen sony LCD 46". We JUST fit it into my car. When I got to the store, it was raining. When I left the store, it was snowing like crazy. Then it would stop/start/stop.

currently, there is about 6 inches in my driveway. should be 10 by morning. Should be 15 or more by sunday night. But I got my damn tv.

It's currently snowing and the roads are slick. It was raining earlier, then sleeting, and finally snowing. It amazes me how people that live here have no clue how to drive in snow. Especially the people that have SUVs that never have seen any offroad use.

But I got my damn tv.

Ahh, so you ended up having to get a new TV after all. That sucks (based on the fact that now you'll want a new HD satellite receiver as you hinted at in Friday's news post). :(

Good that you got a shiny new TV though -- that will look much better than your old set anyways. :)

My parents live just outside Auburn, near Applegate, and they got 3-4 inches of the wet, heavy stuff known as Sierra Cement.

My wife who's almost 7 months preggers told me it just rained in Folsom... a lot (I'm in Dallas right now through Wednesday, and it was very windy but still around 60 degrees today). :)

No snow here, but in Colorado, where I am from, there was a 35 car pileup on I-70 due to white out conditions from blowing snow.

Tired of DC weather, huh? :(

If it's going to be bad, let's just get all snow. This sleet / freezing rain crap is horrible. Hopefully it will warm up enough this afternoon to turn over to all rain...

Well, it was borderline. I think I make the old one last longer, but the repair was going to be around 500 bucks, with it having to go into the shop. I've sent big screens to the shop before, that takes weeks. I had some cash, and I figured, using cash on old TV or using it on new one....new one wins!

When my muscles heal up from plowing ten inches of snow out of my driveway and my neighbors, I may try and get the old tv downstairs. Dunno yet.

To all G|A'ers in the NE and North Central states:
It is 62 degrees and sunny here in Central Alabama. I have a peach tree in full bloom in my backyard.
I'll post a pic if anyone wants... :p

I just got in from shoveling out my house and my neighbor (single Mom). Amazingly enough, I didn't have a heart attack...but I did feel kinda manly. :hehehmm:

Heavy, wet snow that was easy to shovel. Pretty stuff, but glad it's done. A light rain started as I was finishing up, but it looks like things have just about tapered off. No ice with this one! That's all that matters to me...

The ice storm was cancelled, but we've had several inches of very wet snow and some rain. Heavy stuff.

And just for mechmike: :pfft:

It's snowing here now in Binghamton..with a 90 percent chance tomorrow. It's heavy duty stuff too...good for making snowmen and smashing up cars.

Silence you... It snowed here in thousand oaks a few weeks ago and they shut down the road to the celebrities... Which is actually quite ok.. but if it really snowed, they'd close every road cause of all the stoopid people that wouldn't know it was snow and not ashes from the usual fires and who would then crash a lot and cause many sigalerts...
