my dad owns 2. One of them has been in my family for 20 years, and we've made good use of it. It's part of the RCI program, so we can exchange the weeks for any other resort in the program, and just pay a small fee. He also has to pay a yearly maintenance fee.

My entire family uses it regularly, usually a few weeks every year at various resorts around the world/country. Last November, we spent a week in Capetown, South Africa, which cost us a grand total of $250 for the resort. We were in a 3 bedroom suite that literally sat on top of the water. When he dies, my brothers and I will inherit it, and I plan to keep it.

That said, there's usually mixed opinions. Do a search on G|A, cuz I know the topic has come up before.
