This test only has one question, but it's a very important one.

By giving an honest answer, you will discover where you stand morally in this unlikely, fictional situation in which you will have to make a decision.

Remember that your answer needs to be honest, and spontaneous.

Please scroll down slowly and give due consideration to each line.

THE SITUATION

You are in New Orleans, There is chaos all around you caused by a hurricane with severe flooding.

You're a photo journalist working for a major newspaper, and you're caught in the middle of this epic disaster.

You're trying to shoot career-making photos.

There are houses and people swirling around you, and disappearing under the water.

THE TEST

Suddenly you see a man in the water.

He is fighting for his life, trying not to be taken down with the debris.

You move closer.

Somehow the man looks familiar.

You suddenly realize who it is.

It's Rev. Al Sharpton.

At the same time you notice that the raging waters are about to take him under forever.

You have two options- you can save the life of the "Reverend", or you can shoot a dramatic Pulitzer Prize winning photo, documenting the death of one of the world's most famous men.

THE QUESTION

Here's the question, and please give an honest answer....

Would you select high contrast color film, or would you go with the classic simplicity of black and white?

I'll tread into your dangerous waters. Haul him into your boat and then shoot a couple of pictures. You probably would not get a Pulitzer for the shot of him dying, but of him being rescued, you could make the front page. If it was a shot of Sadaam Hussein drowning in the Tigris, you might get a Pulitzer.

I guess I failled. I didn't read the final question.

This thread isn't very nice. You wouldn't like it if this was posted about "insert name of person you like"

it's amusing but even though i think sharpton is a attn whore, he certainly nobody i'd watch swirl downstream whilst i stand by and take a picture.

hmm, very tough call. though b/w can have more of an impact to the viewer, it's harder to capture a good b/w action shot. thus, i say high contrast color.

DSLR, then I'd photoshop it for effect. Hell I might throw in some more people in there. ;)
Whats up with the anti-sharpton-ness anyway?

Ouch. Funny? It actually is. Horrible? Yes.

And I'm with Hapoo. You can always manipulate color into B/W, not the other way around. DSLR with Photoshop.
