I was thinkin' to myself this afternoon that I haven't seen a lunar eclipse in a while. So I said to God,

Me: "hey God, how about a lunar eclipse sometime soon?"

God: "Sure thing Nap, I owe you a couple favors. How's tomorrow night sound?"

Me: "That'd be great, thanks a lot dude. And hey, how 'bout a cute little blonde chick to keep me company while I watch it? As I'm sure you know, it has been a while if y'know what I mean, eh big guy? eh? eh? *wink*"

God: "Now you're pushin' it, kid..."

*ZAP* (lightening strike) "oww..."

_______________

So anyway folks, here are the details. Just since all you West Coasters get the sunny weather and Costco and Fry's and all that other good stuff, this one is a Right Coast only party. You might (might) be able to catch the tail end of it, but don't count on much. The moon will rise in total ecliped state at 5:44pm EST, will start to come back at around 7:00pm, and should be fully back by 8:12ish.

And remember- Earth will be particularly vulnerable to alien invasion during the eclipse, so be sure to wear your foil hats. And don't bother trying to stand eggs on end, that stuff doesn't work (unless you glue them that way).

Yea, well, some hot European chick asked for the same thing. And since she agreed to give me a call next time she was in Tonawanda, NY, I agreed to share.

I think I made out pretty well.

*runs outside in boxer shorts and slippers*

Way too overcast to tell for sure, but it does look pretty bright behind the clouds!

Edit:

*runs back outside with camera*

Don't blame me for the bluryness, I had the camera against the fence. It was the clouds that wouldn't hold still.

Moon through a break in the clouds: nice and full, much brighter than it looks here.

It actually looks like it's about 5am here..all I need is a few birds to start chirping and I'll definately throw my internal clock off. I've been having night fever here lately-this whole winter thing is really starting to piss me off. At least if it was summer, I could be sitting on the front porch having a drink with the neighbors..grrr.

so what time is the eclipse?

It ended around 8 o'clock. Though you never would've known anything cool was happening, considering all the stoopid clouds here.

Stoopid clouds, stoopid eclipse. I didn't want to see it anyway. Hmph. :hmm:
