...the Dominican Republic.

I took along my Got|Apex shirt, and Nate (Nate_El_Bueno) and I took turns. We're standing next to the Jimenoa River in Jarabacoa.

How was the Dominican Republic?

My Grandparents say if they are still alive next year, our family trip will be to there.

We all decided to stay "In Country" this year (US of A) We have left the country on the previous years, but with the new passports restrictions we all decided to stay this year, until all the little chillins' get passports and such.

How was the Dominican Republic?
The D.R. is a beautiful country - beaches along the coast (with a number of resort areas), and mountains in the inland (sometimes called the Alps of the Carribean) with many rivers and waterfalls. Parts of Jurassic Park were filmed there I believe (and the amber-encased mosquito that was the Jurassic Park "logo" also came from the DR). Culturally, it is very third world.

It is a very popular vacation spot for Europeans.


But..How'd ya get the shirt?

Awesome. We usually go for "All Inclusive" resorts, so I'm sure they have plenty. We went to Jamaica, I didn't like it that much. Cancun was Awesome the second time around.

Last October we stayed a week at an all-inclusive in the Playa Dorado area (near Puerto Plata - on the north coast). There are probably a couple of dozen resorts in that area. I know there are other areas in the south (not far from Santo Domingo) and on the eastern tip (Puerto Cana). A number of the resorts might be a bit lower standard than those in a more developed country. The beaches on the northern coast are generally not as nice as those on the south or east.

Not a bad idea. I'll see if I brought my t-shirt to Korea. Too bad I didn't think of it earlier, then I'd have pics for G|A? visits New Zealand and Australia.

Oh well.
