Winter will be officially over in a week or so...
We got blasted with the worst storm of the season for the past two days. While the snow has stopped, it is soooo blustery here that even a vain attempt at shoveling is underminded by the blowing snow that leaves drifts across the pavement. I actually went and sat on the front porch with a glass of wine the other night while it was snowing (and yes I had my winter attire on)..it was so peaceful. It was pristine-unmarked by the tracks of cars or a snowplow, and it was beautiful. It was truly a "Christmas Snow". Today, the road, however is a murky sea of sludge. It's ugly. I'm glad I enjoyed the last storm of the season (hopefully) as it should have been enjoyed.
Spring will be here soon enough-with the crocus bulbs sprouting their flowers through the last remnants of the storm that wants to never leave. I should make a note to self-Christmas is only 9 months away.
Does anyone else ever participate in this ritual of Winter-stopping to actually enjoy a storm???

It was 81 on Tuesday and then we got blasted with a couple of inches of ice and an inch or two of snow on Friday.

I can't wait till winter kicks the bucket.
