Happy Spring…or close enough to not matter.
I’m a bit happier today. Last night I screwed around with things. Discovered my OTA antenna was getting its signal chopped in half by a bad diplexer the Dish installer put in. Tossed that out, fixed that problem.
Then I stood behind the dish and just sort of leaned into it a certain way, and tweaked it just enough that my satellite signal jumped to about where it needs to be. It needs a touch more tweaking on the HD channels, but it’s so much better I didn’t feel like I had hosed myself going with Dish. My installer was a nice guy, but not terribly good with my setup. To be fair, my setup is tricky since my ancient house is surrounded by leafy life.
Luckily, I’m an obsessive compulsive nerd.
It has it’s perks. But don’t kid yourself; it’s a terrible cross to bear for my family. They never know when a new wire will appear, a new hole in the wall, a piece of complication will suddenly beep and require attention. We need to start a support group.
