I'm looking for a device that can quickly copy LTO 3 tapes. I'm not looking to have the tape system take on this overhead. Our current supplier told me he didn't carry anything that can do this.
Can anyone help me find a product for this?

Is this a one time need? If so, these guys can do it for you:

Nope, I'm looking to copy my weeklies before I send them offsite. We have to send them offsite for compliance with our DR process, but I'd like to be able to make some quick copies of 10 tapes so that I don't have to pay a couple hundred bucks every time some bozo deleted or fooked up an important file.
As of now, our tape drive doesn't have enough time to make 2 backups. We also don't have the remaining slots licensed for use, plus I don't think the drive has the ability to duplicate tapes outside of the backup process.
I've seen IDE hard drive copiers that we used to use before we got ghost. I was wondering if they made something like that for tapes.

How about a near-store type solution? Get a massive bank of cheap IDE disks (however big your backup is). Backup your data to there, and then from there to the LTO. Probably costs the same as an LTO duplicator, much faster restores (since it's from disk rather than tape), and then you can expand your backup window into production hours if necessary, since you'll be backing up off of a copy rather than the servers themselves.
Or if you still want to go the duplicator route, here's a place that sells them:
