This year I got a zoo membership. Now I can go as often as I want. If you go three times, you are ahead of the game as far as admission price goes. The zoo can be a hard place to get good pictures of the animals with the cage wires getting in the way (get as close to them as you can with a longer lens if possible to minimize them) or reflections off the glass cages (wear dark clothes to minimize your own reflections- you can't do much about them.
For those thinking about going and want to see the pandas- the lines are longest in the middle of the day. Wait until later in the day and sometimes you can just walk up to them. Last time I was there, the lines were very long at 2:00 but by 4:00 they were gone. They can move fairly quickly- they try to keep things moving along. The Delux Admission includes the Sky Safari tram that goes over the park. If you are not really interested in that just get the regular admission.

I love the duck, the colors are great and you can almost see the water moving. And you just gotta want to give that bear a big hug, until you remember he'd make a snack out of your head.

Or if you are military you get in free! :) Yea for me! We went during work, so around 10-10:30 AM on a Tuesday. It wasn't crowded at All. Plus it was cloudy and ALMOST rainy (but not quite) It was really a perfect day to go. We walked through the pandas with no problem. I have a few pics from there, I'll post them if I get time to process :)

Why?
Why? I don't know? Cause they let us in free? I guess because they want to "give something back" to the military?
