Nah, it's a beast. It's meant to be a desktop replacement, so nothing lightweight about this guy.

Yes, you can load whatever OS you want - all of the drivers are available here (http://www-307.ibm.com/pc/support/site.wss/product.do?subcategoryind=0&familyind=97477&brandind=10&doccategoryind=0&modelind=97560&doctypeind=9&validate=true&partnumberind=0&sitestyle=lenovo&template=%2Fproductpage%2Flandingpages%2FproductPageLandingPage.vm&operatingsystemind=49979&machineind=97559).

HOWEVER - you may not be able to use the XP serial number on the machine without an IBM OEM install disk. I've seen instances where if you try to install from a retail CD using an OEM key it will not recognize it. But of course you can use a retail key with a retail CD, or Linux, or Vista or whatever.
