Sorry for those who do not like insects. This is a waterbug which can look like a big cockroach. I found him in my bathroom. He has expired and I used some tape to help him stay posed where I wanted him.
Technical details: I used a lens reversal ring which allows me to attach my 50mm f/1.8 lens backwards via the filter threads which turns it into a close- up lens. If you have a camera with removable lens you can do this too by just holding your lens on the body backwards. You do lose any automatic exposure and focusing so everything has to be done manually. With the magnification, you need to be careful of not moving- every little bit of camera shake is also magnified.
