My brother is currently in the Army. He's with the Polar Bears: 4th Battalion, 31st Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division based out of Ft. Drum. He's a company logistical specialist, currently in Iraq, based out of Yusufiayah. It has been relatively quiet for his brigade, and he was initially stationed in a village called Rushdi Mullah. They just recently moved him up to Battalion, so he's based out of Yusufiayah, with hot showers, hot food, a TV area, heated/air conditioned tents, etc. He's slated to come back in August.
For more on his regiment's activities, this is a very useful site (I don't tell my parents about this site so they don't worry): http://www.31stinfantry.org

My husband has 17 1/2 years in the the Air Force. He is in the comm squad works on Air Field Systems (metnav- ground navigations and some weather equipment and ground radios)
We have been really lucky and he hasn't deployed over to Iraq or the surrounding areas. His job is contracted over there so if he goes, he goes to guard nationals or other types of side jobs.
His brother worked on A-10's and did go twice. He is now out of the military (forced out after they lost his paperwork to reenlist) after 6 years.

My brother is in the Navy. He's an electrical systems chief I believe, working mostly in engine rooms but usually responsible for all regular power on the ship. He's currently serving on a minesweeper in the Persian Gulf.
