Long time since I posted last, but I still remember that this forum had some knowledgeable folks, so I came here with my conundrum.

Through a bit of luck I ended up with a Dell desktop running an E6700 with 2GB RAM and Vista Ultimate. The machine came with a lame vid card, so I decided I was going to upgrade. I got a sweet deal on an 8800GTS w/ compatible power supply. The PS bolted right into the case, but the 8800GTS doesn't fit, the case is not setup for a card that size. Sooo, I'm in the market for a mobo and case to swap everything into. However, it's been a while and I'm not sure what to go with. I'm hearing that Asus' quality is in the tank and they were my old standby. I don't need SLI, but I would like something that'll support a faster proc in case I decide to go that way in the future. I don't want to spend a ton of money, but no cheapy $70 boards either.

Any ideas?

Ummm... where did you hear that? Asus is still my #1 choice in motherboards. If it were me, I'd go that way still.

BTW... wb to the board. Don't be such a stranger. :D

When seeking motherboard information, I often find Tom's Hardware is a good place to look:
