New Forum Suggestion

A few years back I suggested that G|A open up an Investments Forum. To my surprise, G|A responded by launching the Finance, Investments, & Careers forum which has become a popular hub to talk about careers and lately, real estate.

With Zippy's gorgeous daily photos, my recent undertaking of putting together some frames for myself, and all of the other questions related to crafts, art, photography, design, weddings, etc I thought it may be time to throw out a new forum for all that's creative.

This could range from photography, to artwork, to wedding planning, just to separate out those discussions from the rest of Off-Topic.

I don't know if there would be enough traffic to warrant a separate forum, but I figured i'd toss it out there.

I think having a thread of just photo's and photo talk would be great. I'd like to start posting some too.

just as long as G|A dont go overboard and make a members-based photo gallery (we already have a blog for members, or used to have one anyway).

The problem with that is that it will make the site SLOWER, regardless of how small the pics are. im pretty sure people will WANT to upload a large copy of their nice pics.

This new version of G|A is soooo much faster now than before, its the best ive seen it. Lets keep it fast.

As long as people link/upload/host their pics from somewhere else, and NOT BOG DOWN G|A, its cool.

I'd actually like to see some type of photo gallery, but perhaps make it limited. Maybe it would work if there was some type of a form to do a "Photo Of the Day" thread, just like some people do today. It'd be nice to have a link to see, say, all of zippy's photos of the day on one page, and then clicking on them would take me to the discussion thread about them. Maybe limit it to 1 photo a day or something though.

Nope. It should go into off topic or softer side. Those two dont get nearly as much action as they should as it is.

Agreed. But either way, I just click "New Posts" everytime I come here, so it doesn't really matter what it's posted in. I only have to think about that before I have something to post myself.
