It’s never a bad time for Earth, Wind and Fire.
Certainly not on a Friday, the one day no one can take away from you.
May is coming up, the time of dance recitals and school plays. My daughter is playing the Christmas Elf in the Chronicles of Narnia. She’s pretty happy she gets injured in battle. No good death scene, sadly. I told her most actors kill for a good death scene. I’m kind of looking forward to it, despite hating people and crowds and leaving my cave.
The dance, not so much. I like seeing my kid, but I have to sit through everyone elses kid, and I have to hear bad covers of mediocre songs blasted too loud over ancient speakers. Though it’s always cute when the younger kids get on stage. It’s still kind of a difficult experience.
Still, it’s what we do for the kids. It’s about her fun, not mine. It all started last night with choir. The play is next week. I think. I dunno, these things just sort of creep up on me and next thing I know, I have very little time to whine about it, which seems unfair to me. I’m really good at whining, but even I need a week or two head start on the process to really get a good head of steam going.
